2017 8-10 Baseball State Championship Information
Casa Grande Little League is proud to host the 8/9/10 Baseball State Tournament as these kids battle it out to see who takes home the state championship.
Here is some general information about Casa Grande and Casa Grande Little League:
Schedule: There is currently no plan to have any Sunday games, but this may change depending on weather delays and makeup games. Please be prepared to play at any time and any day during the tournament.
Little League Complex: Casa Grande is located just about half way between Phoenix and Tucson (about an hour from each of the downtowns) and is easily accessible off the I-10. The Casa Grande Little League Complex located at 1000 N. Amarillo Street is accessed off of Florence Blvd. which is exit 194 off of I-10.
Parking: There is a parking lot located off of Amarillo Drive for the complex as well as street parking available on Pueblo Drive which is the street located on the east side of the complex. Please do not park in any of the dirt areas.
Concession Stand: There is a full concession stand located at the complex and it sells the traditional concession stand foods (hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, etc.) and drinks. PLEASE do not bring outside food or drink into the park (obviously water for the players is acceptable) but please understand that concession stands are a great way to recover the costs of putting on the tournament for all Little Leagues and we hope that we can provide you with all of your food and beverage needs during the games.
Ground Rules: Please review the general ground rules for Little League tournaments conducted in the state of Arizona here (some of the rules regarding technology are outdated and we will follow the Little League Rules pertaining to electronic devices in the dugout.) The main ones to keep in mind for parents: 1) Once you child enters the dugout with her team, you cannot have any contact with them until the game is over; 2) No artificial noisemakers or flash photography are allowed; and 3) Provide positive encourgament to all of the kids playing and refrain from any negative remarks concerning the umpires. As far as local ground rules go, just as reminder that no outside food or drinks are permitted, please keep an eye on your children that are not playing (we will have three other fields that may be in use as other teams may be practicing and we don't want any children being hit by foul balls), and please do not have your kids bring scooters, skateboards, roller skates, etc. into the park as we have a building in the middle of our complex and there are alot of blind corners which may cause collisions. However, the number one rule is have fun and cheer on your child and their teammates as they play in the State Tournament.
Hotels: There are plenty of options to choose from should you need a hotel. Most of the hotels in Casa Grande are within a couple of miles of the complex. Here are some rates that CGLL has been able to work out for the teams:
Holiday Inn: - $79 per day for double bed; all rooms come with coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave - 2 adult Breakfast Buffet kids 12 & under are free
Holiday Inn Express: - Needs to be 10 or more rooms booked - $90 for double bed rooms; they do fill up every night - Full Breakfast Buffet
Super 8: - $59.50 for double beds - Continental Breakfast
